TITLE: WAVE 234, HELPING EVERYONE
Team
The COVID-19 pandemic has caused many countries to implement lockdowns in efforts to flatten the curve. This is important because a curve that is too steep (sudden high influx of cases of COVID19 per day) would see people needing medical attention every day, which would eventually overwhelm even the best health care system.
In Singapore, the sudden surge in numbers prompted the Government to implement a circuit breaker period. This has fortunately flattened the curve for now.
Elsewhere in the world, countries who have since implemented and removed lockdowns are experiencing second and third waves of COVID19 cases.

The issues that we identify that potentially cause wave 234:

Repeatedly checking in to school using StudentTOMS and Safe entry is troublesome

Using the phone to scan SafeEntry QR codes is time-consuming and inconvenient

Costly and inefficient to have humans constantly checking SafeEntry log

How we are tackling this issue?

A gantry which uses facial-recognition to record entries into a location

Takes the temperature of the person entering, and only allows safe and verified people in
